Ooh! Collector's Gameboy!

What a deal! The little-known and extremely rare Gameboy SF edition is up on EBay!

I think Satan's feeling the chill

So I looked out my window today, and damned if I didn't see a pig flying around with a goddamned jetpack.

That's right, folks, I've actually gotten my school shit in line so far. Submitted my first assignment for my computing class on time, finished my first math assignment almost a week early, and am on track to finish my second computing assignment three weeks in advance. Hoo-ah. \o/

Haven't worked with proper perspective in a while. I'd forgotten how it can be simultaneously gratifying yet painful. :p

"Oh, snap!"

Just... Wow.

Christians look to form 'new nation' within U.S.

For now, Burnell prefers to shy away from specifics on the precise laws governing the country.

"Independence first, details later," he says.

Sounds like a great plan, jackass.

So I'm 28 now.

Holy sweet fuck, I'm 28!

Tough decisions to be made, and unwanted things to do, but it's all good. All part of growing up, or something, I reckon. I mean, hey, sometimes you gotta roll a hard six, right? For the record, I still don't know exactly what the fuck that means. I mean, I think I can guess from the context, but yeah. Anyways, it seems an appropriate enough thing to say.

Painful though the talking points may have been, the long conversation somehow helped. No illusions, I'm still hurtin', but at least now I'm pretty sure I can actually walk the path to recovery, which is more than I can say about just a couple of days ago.

Saw this gem in someone's sig earlier today while browsing CGTalk:
Trust yourself, then you will know how to live.

"Can I keep it, love? Savvy."

Jen's back

Jen, Kira, Aughra, the whole gang's back. Looks like Genndy Tartatovsky's been signed on to do a sequel to The Dark Crystal.

Hollywood, CA, February 1, 2006 – Award-winning animation director Genndy Tartakovsky, who created the hit series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory, will direct Power of the Dark Crystal, the much anticipated sequel to The Jim Henson Company’s 1982 classic fantasy film. The announcement was made today by Lisa Henson, co-CEO of The Jim Henson Company and a producer on the film.

Additionally, Tartakovsky’s newest venture, Orphanage Animation Studios, has been brought on board as a producing partner to head up the CG animation elements that will be incorporated with the film’s live-action animatronic characters. Legendary fantasy artist Brian Froud, designer of the original film, will return to design the new characters. Odyssey Entertainment is representing worldwide sales and distribution on the film.

Holy shit.

...looks hot. Milla Jojovich decked out in fantastically body-hugging leather/vinyl/PVC kicking ass with further-developed GunKata. Yummy. The trailer also served to get me utterly hooked on an album released two years ago by some Welsh chick (her song "24" was the one playing towards the end).

Oh yeah. Happy fucking Valentine's Day.

Shit. It's the 10th, and I still haven't nailed the concept. Finally settled on a good direction, though, I think, though this still needs a bunch of fleshing out (and yes, "Napoleon" will be getting some armor).

After what must be over two years of visiting the Polycount forums, I've finally come out of lurkage. We're going to war, baby, and we're gonna whup some CGChat ass. My chances of coming out on top are slim, considering the insane talent enlisting, but that matters not. What matters is that regardless of skill, talent, experience, we all answer the call to arms, and take the fight to the snivelling CGChat bastiches. If I go down, I'm taking half a dozen of them with me. For great justice!

And just in case y'all think I've gone positively batty:
The Dominance War: CGChat vs. Polycount

This'll be a fucking fantastic experience, and great fun, to boot.

Oh yeah, I've already got a rough backstory fleshed out for my General, and have started playing around with concepts (can you say "Quato?"). Thanks to some great advice from one of the industry heavies, though, I'm going to be seriously revisiting the original visual concept. Should be a blast.

Update 7 Feb, 0418:
Spent some time today doing some thumbnail silhouettes, to play around with different ideas. A lot of the ideas didn't really pan out (like having the little dude growing out of the big guy's back, hunchback style), but managed to come up with a couple that I think are worth expanding on. Major change is that the big guy is now a chick. Because nothing really screams creepy like a nasty little fucker growing out of a chick's gut, copping a feel during a lull in the fighting.
