GTA: Mexico City

Well, sorta. I was browsing FileFront today, and came across a demo for Total Overdose. Take the freeform basis of GTA, throw in the gunplay from the Max Payne games, the style meter and moves from the Devil May Cry games, the combo system from the Tony Hawk games, drop in a solid Latino hip hop soundtrack, and add a heavy helping of a Robert Rodriguez penchant for irreverance (there are some very heavy-handed homages to him in the game and trailer), and you've pretty much got the basic idea of the game. I believe this just made it to my 'want-to-have' list.

Dude. I have been watching that game for a bit now. Although the reviewers have been getting it wrong. It's supposed to be, "If Robert Rodriguez imagined a video game." Not Quentin whathisface, like they keep writing. It really looks good. Right now, Indigo Prophecy is on my watch list.

What idiot said Quentin? I mean, it's not like the devs didn't give massive hints as to who inspired them. Guitar case machine guns, anyone?

That said, I think it's a shame the devs missed out on the guitar case rocket launcher, especially with the accompanying ultra goofy firing stance. :p
